The Richard Desmond Children Eye Centre is Located in London, and was completed in 2008. And the Design was by Penoyre and Prasad . The building is illuminated on the south facade using RGB color changing lights. In order to project these lights a system of louvers were put into place. The louvers during the day play a role in protecting the structure from solar gain. At night the purpose is that of a "projection screen". The louvers are angle 50degrees to the horizontal to prevent direct glare affecting the occupants. The lighting system is controlled via a DMX 512 controller, using a Light Projects - designed programto create shifting light scenes with an imaganitive mix of subtle colors.
"The lighting is designed to be very comfortable for people inside the building."
