The Origin of Species

Darwin's "On the origin of Species" has evolved over the several editions that were written over his lifetime. The first edition consisted of approximately 150,000 words, while the sixth edition contained 190,000 words. The changes made usually because of the addition of details, refinement of the material, or even a change in ideas. The project focuses on the changes between those editions, and tries to categorize them through color. The content is displayed line by line and grouped into chapters. The revisions are color-coded depending on what version. The visualization helps to give an easy overview of the changes made over time.
