Assignment 1

As you probably know, I'm still finishing up some business in London before making the move to Lexington, but we need to get things rolling, so we don't waste too much time.

To begin, each of you are required to do some background research and present material in relationship to Color-Based information encoding/decoding. The goal of this is to get everyone digging a bit deeper to discover interesting methods/projects on what would seem to be a fairly well know topic: colors.

Possible topics could cover:
cartography, informatics, medical imaging, rendering/lighting techniques, computer vision, zoning, structural/thermal analysis, paint sample names, branding, pattern recognition, etc..

Each of you are required to present the research in the form of a MINIMUM of 14 posts (essentially 1 per day) on this site. They should essentially take the form of short essays which cite material you have found along with an explanation of how it relates to the overall discourse of what we are covering (Essentially, why it is interesting). I would also appreciate it if everyone would add the appropriate labels to the post to allow cross-referencing across the material.

We will meet together on Tuesday 22nd (time and place tbd) Looking forward to seeing the results.

Nick
